The Heartland’s inaugural League Night of 2021
The Heartland’s inaugural League Night of 2021 was held on Tuesday, May 4th from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Clear Lake. Seventeen enthusiastic muskie hunters were treated to a windy evening of partly cloudy skies, air temp of 60°, 16 mph north wind gusting to 24 mph and water temps in the low 60s.
There were four fish moved with two coming to the net! Tyler Fredin boated a clean 36 incher with partners Kyle Fredin & Cale Fredin. Ryan Becker, fishing with partner Derrick Barnes, caught a nicely marked 34 inch fatty. Partners Kolby Berg & Nathan Hurst were able to move two fish, but, couldn’t entice them into eating. PIT numbers were obtained on both boated fish which will assist the DNR in their research on the health of our Clear Lake muskie population. Congratulations, Tyler & Ryan!
Heartland members please mark your calendars for our next League Night which will be on Tuesday, May 18th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
Finally, our May business meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 11th at The Other Place restaurant in Clear Lake from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. We will be discussing, among other things, the results of our recent “Stan Harrison Memorial Spring Tune-Up” fundraiser.
f you know of someone who is interested in muskie fishing, please encourage them to attend one of our League Nights or attend a business meeting to meet our members and get a feel for what the Heartland is all about.
If your membership has expired, please renew it so you can support the Heartland Chapter with your participation in these events. We look forward to seeing you all at our next League Night!
