Guidelines with Kurt Kimpton: Wisconsin River
The cold has finally settled in and water temps are finally down into the mid 50s. Windows of opportunity are getting shorter. Most of our action has been just before or during sunrise. I still have been getting fish on a variety of baits, such as topwater, rubber, and glides. The sucker bite has been unusually slow this past week, only getting 2 fish on suckers. With the dropping water temps I suspect some of the bigger fish in the system are going to feel the need to feed, and we should start seeing some real quality fish in the coming weeks.
