The past week fishing has been consistent with shots at fish in the evening hours and after dark. I did take the previous week off due the water temps a little warmer than I liked. The high-water temps subsided this week due to rain and the Canadian wildfire created cloud cover. However, during this warm weather time it is always a wise decision to find the lakes with the coolest water. In addition, I do think it is a great idea to not target any fish located at or below the thermocline in deep water/open water. Muskies have transitioned to traditional summer spots. We are finding fish in weedbeds, on primary breaklines, and even on shallow sand and rock structures despite the warmer than average water temps. 

When casting the primary breaklines tubes and Beavers have shown to be top producers. The shallow sand zombies can be caught on jigs, small bucktails, and Shallow Invaders. I love throwing plastics in weedbeds and their weights should be adjusted accordingly so they run clean. One very important piece of advice I can give is during warm water periods fish rarely move long distances to engage with a casted bait. It would be smart to thoroughly cover an area with numerous casts once a fish is located.
