Guide Lines with Jeremy Burris: Fox Chain of Lakes

Cooler weather and rain over the weekend has temps on the Fox Chain planted right around 57 degrees with some of the warmest water touching 60. The bite has picked up and the spawn is nearing its final stages. Small males remain aggressive and some big females starting to show themselves. Trolling has been most productive with short line presentations just outside spawning areas in the 5-10 foot range. The hot bait has been the jointed slasher by B & N Custom Rods and Tackle. Water levels remain lower than usual and weed growth is finally starting to take off.

The Fox River below the chain has also been productive with lots of action! However since the spawn fish have spread out and have been relating to deeper current seams adjacent to swift water. Pull pause type baits have been some of the most productive.

Good Luck on the water,
Jeremy Burris
