Guide Lines with Andrew Schiera: More Fox Chain Reports

The second week of May was a great week for fishing here in IL on The Fox Chain.
Our newly emerging vegetation outside of spawning flats along primary break lines was most successful.  This week started at 63.5* surface temps and quickly rose to 71.5* by 5/22.  We had success quickly fishing shallow Coon Tail and Curly Tailed Pond Weed with 5-6″ jerkbaits and spring size Topwaters.  Covering acreage was crucial as lakes were hot and cold day to day within local weather conditions. Fish have been SI shown scattered between depths of 4′-14′ of water. wAs visibility changes we’ve found some pelagic Mama’s out recovering beyond the break line as well, however your numbers are on the primary or just off the flats.
